GoXLR Mic Calibrator

Checks the capture chain and the room, measures your keyboard and your voice, then derives gate, compressor, gain, de-esser and a ten-band EQ placed on your voice — and lets you hear it before you download. Nothing leaves your machine unless you send it.

Requires HTTPS (or localhost) for microphone access.

1 · Set up

Load a flat measurement profile on the GoXLR first. Gate off, compressor at 1.0:1, EQ flat — otherwise you measure the settings you are trying to compute.
Prefer Broadcast Stream Mix or Sample. The Chat Mic stream may be band-limited.
Windows: Sound → Recording → device → Properties → Levels. Anything under 100 attenuates everything the browser (and OBS) receives, and it is the usual reason a capture reads “quiet”.
The official app has no mic meter. Only fill this if you run goxlr-utility and read its mic level at normal speech. Otherwise every level stays relative — which is fine: gate and compressor are derived from differences, and the gain suggestion stays off by default.
Browser echo cancellation, noise suppression and auto gain are switched off explicitly — they would destroy the measurement.
